FORMWORK ENGINEER, AYER’S CLIFF

Imagine your pride in having participated in the design of the formwork for the Light Rail
Train extension in Ottawa. If you are like Olivier and you are passionate about mechanics
and heavy machinery, the Formwork Engineer position is for you!

We are looking for an engineer to join our team and assist in the design (3D and finite
element analysis) and implementation of steel formwork projects and related equipment for
the underground industry. A unique company in the market, Everest Equipment Co. has
been providing highly customized equipment for the construction of tunnels (aqueduct,
metro, etc.), shafts, bridges and other structures on major projects throughout North
America for nearly 50 years.

We are looking for a creative self-starter who will contribute to
our position as market leader as with these projects for example:

THE DAY TO DAY

 

  • Manage formwork production projects and work in close collaboration with drafters,
    purchasing and production
  • Ensure that our equipment is designed according the applicable standards of
    operability, simplicity, safety and ergonomics, and profitability
  • Perform structural analysis of steel structures via hand calculations, finite element
    analysis (FEA) or structural analysis software
  • Perform static analysis of mechanical components (motor drives, hydraulic
    cylinders, mechanisms)
  • Design and sizing of hydraulic systems
  • Produce equipment documentation (operation manuals, procedures, checklists)

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Member of the OIQ in good standing
  • 5+ years experience in mechanical/structural design and project management
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with welded steel construction
  • Good literacy in AutoCAD 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills and management of multiple projects
  • Time and multi-project management
  • Creativity in finding solutions and optimizing designs
  • Communication with colleagues and customers
  • Drive to satisfy our customers and build long-term relationships with them
  • Bilingual
